Thomas is mobile!

Yes, you correctly read the title....Thomas is mobile! He has been so frustrated lately watching his sister move all over the place, but he has finally found his own way of crawling. Until today we weren't sure how he was moving. We would put him in one area of a room and a few minutes later would see him in a totally different area. Don't think we leave him unattended...For example, while I was bathing Elizabeth I left Thomas in their room (door gated) by the bookshelf. When Elizabeth and I returned to the nursery he was by the door. This evening when David got home we saw Thomas' version of crawling. He sort of moves like a crab....he moves by getting on both hands, one knee, and one foot and then sits and then repeats the whole sequence. Make sense? We are going to try to get it on video. I was almost in tears tonight when he moved himself from the kitchen to the living room -- the first time he has ever been able to get to another room without assistance. He was SO proud of himself.

Yay Thomas!

When I read your posts, they bring so many different emotions/responses. Tears of joy, smiles, frustration (lady at Wal-Mart)and memories (of my children at different stages as well as memories of you in school).

Yeaa Thomas! Words of advice for mommy and daddy....make sure you leave empty trash cans in rooms frequently (bathrooms, bedrooms, etc). You will be amazed that you think you have things child proof...little children are so smart.

If it makes you feel better, Claire is 21 months and she still takes a pacifer at night. I had good intentions to take Logan's away at 24 months. I did at around 26 months. I did take Hayden's away at 24 months. I am not saying that I am a good example but it does allow me to get some sleep at night.

I read the other day that they believe that the use of pacifiers can reduce the risk of SIDS.

Don't let it get to you...there will be more comments about other things---you are a GREAT mother.

I do believe that Thomas has more hair than Claire. She is growing a mulet.

I love the pics.. keep them coming.

A mullet! That is so funny! Elizabeth doesn't have much hair at all. Wouldn't you know the male would have more hair than the female.

I'm glad to hear Claire still has her pacifier. Amy's Karli does too though she only gets hers in the crib. She was two in May. The twins' pacifier attachment doesn't really bother me as much as it does David. I feel like you do...if it helps them sleep/comfort themselves it is fine with me. I would like to restrict it to the crib, but I am not ready to tackle that one yet.

It is so good to hear from you. Miss and love you!
