Last shot

I had my last hydroxy-progesterone shot this afternoon. I have been receiving progesterone shots in some form or fashion since November 2005 -- that is 8 months! Initially, David gave me nightly injections of progesterone in olive oil which were supposed to help with embryo implantation. Typically one would stop taking these shots between 6-8 weeks, but my first OB/GYN wanted me to keep taking them until I was 12 weeks. Of course we did what we were told. I was off the shots for a few weeks and was then hospitalized for heavy contractions at 16 weeks (I was admitted on my birthday) At that point Dr. Salley (my current OB/GYN) recommended I receive weekly injections of hydroxy-progesterone shots to keep the contractions away. I wonder how my body will react to not getting a dose of progesterone. We shall see...

I am going to miss seeing my nurse weekly. She was always so nice and cheerful. I would love to keep in touch with her and have added her to our phone list of people to call when the twins are born. I hate I didn't have a gift for her today, but it is hard to shop in bed. I'm not really sure what to get her but plan on getting her something once I am out and about again.

David is picking Amy up from the airport this evening. Her flight is supposed to arrive at 6:30 our time. The airport is only 15 minutes from our house so it won't be long now. We are both so excited about her visit!
