I had an appointment yesterday and got to see my primary OB/GYN. Everything looked good. Both hearbeats were good. I'm measuring 37 weeks which is normal with twins. My cervix is still good but has begun to thin. Both babies' heads are down and really low. It is now difficult for me to sit straight up because of the pressure down there. We have another appointment Monday morning for an ultrasound to check the sizes of the babies and to get a cervical length. Dr. Salley said it was time to go ahead and schedule my c-section, and we are aiming for 38 1/2 weeks. I sure hope we make it that long.
Dr. Salley is such a great doctor! David and I have been extremely happy with him and have no regrets about switching to him from our initial doctor. There was a student shadowing him yesterday, and as Dr. Salley was about to examine me he noticed my toenails. He said, "See those nails? That is a sign of a woman who is doing great both physically and emotionally." I told him my sister had painted them for me. I can't reach my toes anymore :)
Hopefully, David and I will finish the nursery this weekend and can post some pictures.

Ashley,
I am glad things are going well. Isn't it great to have a doctor that you feel comfortable with. You deserve to have your toes polished for you. Before you go in for your C-section, you need to schedule a manicure and pedicure for yourself. It will help relax you and it will be awhile before you make it back in. I know you loved having your family there. I also know how hard it was for you when they left. I hated it when my mom and dad would come visit and then they would have to leave and I only lived a short distance away. The extra dose of hormones does not help right now either. They will be back soon to see your precious babies. You and David are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you,
Cathy
It does make all the difference when you feel comfortable with your doctor! I hope if I don't make it to 38 weeks we have a chance to reschedule rather than me just going into labor unexpectedly -- in which case whoever's on call will deliver the babies. I like all the other doctors in the group, but I like my primary doctor the best. My hormones are definitely in high gear right now.
How is your vision?
Love you too,
ashley
I immediately thought as I read this...."There's no way she's reaching down to paint her own toenails because I can remember my pregnant times & not being able to reach very far over and not being able to see my toes just looking straight down!"
Glad to hear you're pleased with your doctor! When Kent was in the army, I got whoever there "was" that day! Luckily I always had good doctors so I know that's a secure feeling!

Actually, I wrote on the back of our sofa with lipstick growing up, Emily just used the crayon since I didin't own tube lipstick. Hang in there, once they come, you can only WISH to be in bed this long. I am just now recovering from the lost sleep from their infant years and teenage years. Alli just got back from Mexico doing a course for college (easier to pay the money than try to get her to pass 2nd year Spanish), so I had to go through the whole Aruba worrying thing (of course, she met a man named EDUARO, her newest love!!), Emily is home for the summer from college with a boyfriend in Rome GA, so she is only here in spirit, and Tim has yet to find an apartment....so they all come back even after they leave. Life is pretty good, I just don't cook, but I do a lot of laundry,,,speaking of which, hope you like folding clothes, that was and still is my favorite pastime while watching late night tv...fond memories..thinking about you, Paula Jo
Dawn -- I can't see my feet anymore and definitely can't reach them. I can barely put lotion on my feet!
Paula -- I can see you writing on the sofa with lipstick LOL! Glad to hear your kids are keeping you busy.
I love hearing from ya'll!
