34 Weeks today!

We have made it to 34 weeks! The babies are moving a lot especially in the afternoons and at night. David tells them to be still at night so I can sleep, but they don't listen :) I have been reading my lactation book to brush up on what I learned in class and am getting more excited each day. I can't get enough of baby stories on tv -- in between my new favorite chefs on Food Network. I think everybody has their bags packed just in case the babies decide to come before my c-section date. Mom, Callie, and Jo are planning on staying the first week after the babies are born. Hopefully, our family members can take turns coming for one week at a time to help us out at first. Then, I'm sure David and I will be ready to get into our own routine. I don't have my bag packed yet, but I do have a list of things to pack. I'm betting my sister-in-law Amy will help me pack when she gets here. She will be here July 5th Yay!

I'm looking forward to seeing the babies' sweet faces. I can't believe we are so close to their births. I will miss feeling them move inside me. It is comforting to know that my body is keeping them safe right now. I'm anxious to see how David responds to seeing the babies for the first time. He will be great in the hospital. He is always so calm.

Time for Food Network!

34 weeks and Mom to be seems calm and that is a good thing.
I hope Daddy to be is getting a little rest.
Just checking in.

Hey Uncle Jimmy!
I feel pretty calm though I have my crazed hormonal moments. I try to have them when I'm alone. I think Daddy is worn out :)

Question, have you had much rain? I keep thinking about that creek down below the house. Had over 13 inches up this way. The sun is out which is a good thing.
Check back later tonight.

No, we haven't had much rain here. We need some.

Ashley,
It is so good to sense some relief in your emails. I spoke to a girl that I work with that had twins almost three years ago. She went through the shots, too. Her twins were born via C-section at 36 weeks. They are healthy, beautiful children. The mother told me yesterday that everything is starting to get easier now.

My children were real active in my tummy at night, too. I think it is God's way of preparing you for being up at night when the babies arrive.

Love ya,
Cathy

Hey Cathy! I'm definitely more at ease and am anxious for the twins to arrive. I only have one more shot to go!

I slept pretty good last night. I think David did too :)

GIve the kids a kiss from me.

Hi Ashley! I just checked back on your blog to see how you were doing. I'm so glad you have made it to 34 weeks. You look great! I hope you are feeling good too. Not too much longer. I know you are so ready to meet your sweet babies. I hope everything continues to go well for you. Happy 4th of July! -Carter White

I'm praying for you and your babies. Your calm attitude is definitely a factor in how long your babies will stay inside. Remember, motherhood is both euphoric and exhausting (as you already know) - take it easy and take all of the help you can get. I have a friend who breastfed her twins for NINE MONTHS - she felt like a cow at times but it was a great accomplishment. I can get you her phone number if you want any advice.

Marria,
I would love to have your friend's number. I really want to breastfeed the twins for a year.
I have taken a lactation class and done a lot of reading. The hospital where I am having the babies has a great lactation center with about lactation consultants. Thanks for your encouraging words.

Love you,
ashley

Checking back and I see no new changes so guess all four of you are doing good. Just got back from the movies(Devil wears Prada)cute, funny and Strep pulls off another one. Just those looks she gives people. It also makes you think about how really important are those 9-? hour jobs, will the world keep going if you miss something.
