I had to post after David's post. Other than parking in the wrong place and the camera incident we had a good time. Most of the animals were out in spite of the heat, and the twins were so good. They slept most of the time though Thomas was awake for awhile following his meal :) I nursed (discreetly) in public for the first time and am no longer nervous to do it. The lactation center gave me a card to carry with me stating that according to the state law "A woman may breastfeed her child in any location where the mother and her child are authorized to be. Breastfeeding a child in a location where the mother is authorized to be must not be considered indecent exposure." I didn't have the card with me, but I feel more comfortable knowing there is a state law.
David says it was our last outing for awhile -- we will see about that:)

What, who would try to stop a Mom from feeding her children. If some one approachs you about this,Say if you DO NOT LEAVE MY SPACE I am going to start yelling,RAPE-FIRE-CHILD ABUSE(which it is)-or anything else to embrass the - - -hole,then do it.Sorry this just p- -- me off.It is natural thing,it happens all of the time.Sorry but this just got to me. Guess you want take me on any trips with you are the kids.

I am sure outings will get easier...I am proud of y'all venturing out to the ZOO...How cool?!?! Are you able to nurse 2 babies at the same time discretely? I was so clumsy nursing 1 descretely! You de woman!

Hey Jennifer! No, I couldn't nurse them at the same time -- have to have my pillow for that. Luckily, Elizabeth was asleep for most of Thomas' turn and then waited patiently for her turn.
Nurse in public all you want to...I've had men and women give me dirty looks (and I was always very discreet) but I just looked back until they looked away. THAT'S WHAT BREASTS ARE FOR..!!!
Fayetteville and Austin were great places to live and nurse my first baby because it's very accepted and a lot of women were nursing in public.
Marria -- Now that I have done it once I feel fine about future nursing. At first, I tried to put Thomas' head under my shirt, and it did not work LOL! He started screaming. I thought "what the heck" and lifted my shirt as discretely as possible.
