The babies are growing!
David took the day off today, and we had a wonderful outing. We went to Columbia to the Lactation Center at the hospital to return the hospital grade breast pump I rented and to buy a breast pump for me to keep. They will weigh your babies for free, and we decided to take advantage of this during our appointment. Thomas now weighs 6 lbs, and Elizabeth weighs 5 lbs. 11 oz! I was so relieved after finding this out. I have been wondering if they are getting enough to eat with just my breast milk. They also seem to spit up quite a bit. They have both gained about 1 pound in three weeks which seems great to me. I guess the next time they will be weighed will be at their 8 week appointment with the pediatrician.

Growing babies!!! mine spit up A LOT, too! My lactation specialist (she was wonderful) assured me she was getting plenty...She explained that it looks like more than it is. I talked to her like 1x/wk and i went to see her 2-3 times in the first month, this was with abby...it was very helpful...Thomas and Elizabeth look healthy in all the pictures! God is good! I am just so happy for you! Are you getting much sleep, Ash?
Jennifer,
I have loved the lactation center at the hospital and all the specialists that I have come in contact with. They have been so helpful and encouraging. I can't believe how much Thomas and Elizabeth have grown -- God is good! I'm getting some sleep...each night/day is different. I am trying to savor each moment despite sleep deprivation because I know they will be out of this phase and walking in the blink of an eye.
I'm ready for a reunion! I miss everybody so much!
Great to hear you guys are getting along! Fat babies are happy babies! Glad to hear that you are getting some time togeter alone with the babies. You need that. Miss you and love you!

I think I hurt David's feelings with the homesick comment. I'm homesick for my family to see the babies. David has been wonderful with the babies and with my everchanging hormones :) I couldn't do it without him.
All of my babies spit up A LOT for A LONG TIME! I mean everywhere! Glad to hear your babies are growing - trust yourself and your feeding. Just because you can't see how much milk they are drinking you can hear them swallowing and see their content little faces when you are done!
I have always assumed that breast fed babies don't spit up. GUess I was way off the mark...
