There was a time in my life when I couldn't get far enough away from The Delta nor fast enough. Funny how age and distance can change one's opinion. I'm about to take the twins to Arkansas for two weeks. One might ask, "TWO WEEKS????? WHY????" I have one word ........family. I haven't seen my family in six months. There is nothing natural or ok about that. I know lots of people go much longer than six months without seeing family members, but I grew up in a large, loud, simple, country family. We didn't always get along ....still don't, but we love each other and would fight a tiger for one another. Daddy has always said, "Blood is thicker than water." I want to pass that sense of belonging and loyalty to Thomas and Elizabeth.
T and E are so excited about our trip. Everyday they say, "I want to go to Arkansas today, Mama." They are ready to play with their cousins, dig in the dirt, go swimming, and play baseball. Hopefully, I will have lots of pics to post.
