This past week has been difficult to say the least. E was diagnosed with an ear infection on Friday, and Thomas started throwing up on Sunday. He was unable to hold anything down until Tuesday. Today everything is coming out the other end for poor Thomas. He is eating very little but drinking a lot. Elizabeth has been quite a trooper through all of this and functioning well on very little attention.
After we got the kids in bed I was cleaning up the kitchen and feeling grumpy.....I'm so tired of my kids being sick.....so tired of being cooped up in the house.....so tired of being unable to get a single chore done....so tired of being tired, etc. I heard Elizabeth over the monitor calling, "mommy, mommy." As I climbed the stairs I thought to myself, "what now?" When I opened her door she sat up and said, "We forgot to say our prayers, Mommy," and she quickly folded her sweet little hands. My heart melted.
What a gentle reminder that all will be fine....that it is not all about me. I love our sweet children.

You made me cry. Isn't it great to teach our children to depend on their Heavenly Father? And, through our teaching them... we are reminded we must trust completely in God too!
Oh, Ashley! Sweetest thing I have heard all day! Thanks for sharing... Our children put life in perspective for us all the time! AMEN, Elizabeth!
