Thomas and Elizabeth turned six months old on the 13th -- which was also Gramps' birthday. Happy Birthday, Gramps! We took T and E for the six month well visit yesterday, and all went well. E is 24 inches long and weighs 12 lbs 3 oz. T is 24 1/2 inches long and weighs 12 lbs 12 oz. I knew Thomas was bigger because he definitely feels heavier when I pick him up. They are below the average range in all areas of the growth chart for their age and gender. However, this is normal since they are twins and were born early. The pediatrician expects them to catch up by their 9 month or 12 month check-up. I'm not concerned that they are below average especially since they are growing and moving up the growth chart. They each got 4 shots yesterday (HIB, polio, pneumoccocal conjugate, and DTaP) so they are a little crabby today. I was glad David went with me yesterday because it was so difficult to console both of them after their shots on their 4 month check-up. Besides their growth T and E are doing well developementally. They are rolling over some -- E more than T -- using their hands to somewhat transfer objects, cooing, and laughing, and sitting up with assistance. Eating is going well. The doctor said that she would not renew the prescription for the Reglan or Prilosec because usually babies will outgrow reflux by six months of age. That is the hope anyway. So once the meds are gone we will see what happens. If they show they still need the meds the dosage will be increased based upon the their weight. T and E still aren't sleeping completely through the night consistently, and the doctor said as they get larger in weight we should expect them to sleep longer at night.
I continue to be amazed with our children and am so thankful for how well they are developing. God is good.

I want to snuggle them!!!
They love snuggles. Thomas' favorite thing to do now is play with Daddy's hair while being snuggled. THe look on his face is priceless....he is completely content. They are so precious! I think I will go peek at them in their cribs now.
awww!
Based on my experience with my three breast fed babies, they did not sleep consistently through the night until about one year (plus or minus) depending on the child. I was always jealous of mothers who children did sleep through the night at an early age.
Hey Cathy! Wow, one year. We are halfway there!
Miss you,
ashley
